“I am dedicated to my profession and will always provide the best possible care to each individual I meet and see no matter the problem. I am open, sympathetic, and always learning ways to serve you better.”
Meet Dr. Robert Wagner, the original game-changer in Oral Surgery at our practice! Born and raised in Saskatchewan, Dr. Wagner’s journey began at the University of Saskatchewan, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree before heading to Detroit. There, he took on the formidable task of dual-degree residency, earning both his Medical Degree (Wayne State Medical School) and specialized training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Sinai-Grace/University of Detroit Mercy).
From the Motor City, Dr. Wagner and his family cruised south to sunny Fort Lauderdale, where he became an Assistant Professor at Nova Southeastern University. He was instrumental in shaping the next generation of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, all while perfecting his craft.
The Wagner family’s next stop was Oakland, California, where Dr. Wagner joined Kaiser Permanente’s Head and Neck Surgery Department. He made quite an impact in the bustling surgical environment, focusing on orthognathic surgery and a myriad of oral maxillofacial needs. During his time there he also worked closely with the Highland Hospital OMFS residents.
After five years of California dreaming, Dr. Wagner knew it was time to return to his roots. In August 2009, he brought his extensive experience back to Regina, Saskatchewan, with the support of the Regina Orthodontic Group. What started as a single office on Albert Street has grown into Provincial Oral Surgery’s thriving practice in Gardiner Park, complete with two state-of-the-art surgical suites.
Dr. Wagner is deeply committed to his field, currently serving as an active participant and past President of the Canadian Association of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Wagner holds American and Canadian Board certification. He provides a full scope of oral maxillofacial surgical care, dentoalveolar surgery for healthy and health compromised patients, orthognathic surgery (over 4,000 corrective jaw surgeries preformed), as well as comprehensive TMJ surgeries, implants, treating anomalies, lesions and deformities for his patients in Saskatchewan. To stay current and relevant, Dr. Wagner maintains a strong passion for learning which has him traveling the globe, connecting with other top surgeons, and continually enhancing his practice to provide the best care for his patients.
When he’s not transforming smiles, Dr. Wagner enjoys quality time with his wife and children, soaking up all that Regina has to offer.
“Without the path that led me here, I would be at a loss. In that path, there are many individuals I think of daily who are part of every decision I make, thank you!”
